Almost time...

Ok, I know I said I'd post a publishing date, but it seems that is not possible. The good news is Monsoon Reign is completely finished, polished and ready for readers. The bad news is I'm still waiting on my finished cover art. Once I receive that the book will be available on Amazon, I will be sure to post the link.

In the meantime, I have begun work on book 2 with a working title of Soma. I'll try to update a bit here and there as I get further along in the process.

Today I wanted to share my writing space with everyone. This small corner in the living room is all I have for now. We have a 4 bedroom house, but with 4 kids and a grand child space is at a premium. Being a military family I know we will move in a few years and I'll have to find a new spot I can feel somewhat comfortable writing in. For now I will dream of the office I will have when my husband finally retires and we buy our own home.

I'm pretty open for the design of the office but I really want a view like this. Preferably near Lake Michigan :)

Being new to the area I missed this book festival last year. But I am so excited about going this year. I'm building my list of panels I want to attend today.

Crazy weekend. The processor on my laptop suddenly quit working and I ended up having to get a new one. So I spend the last several days recovering all that I lost, thankfully I back up the important stuff on an external hard drive. For now I just wanted to update that I have also put chapter one on create space in a downloadable pdf format.

Finally Chapter one is ready to put online. I'm setting late spring/early summer 2013 as my goal for publishing on Amazon.

What I've been reading...

Yes I'm still polishing off chapter one of Monsoon Reign and will release it soon. In the mean time I wanted to take a moment to share a series I have been enjoying recently. I just finished reading book 4 of The Fireblade Array: Blazed Union, by H.O. Charles.

One thing I've notice in self published books are a large amount of writing mistakes that would be caught if the author took a little more time to go over their work. This is why it takes me so long in my rewrites, I want to put the best possible story out their for my readers. My greatest desire is for the reader to immerse into the world I have created and not be jarred out by a blatant mistake, misspelling or just plain bad writing.

But I digress. The point I am slowly getting to is that H.O. Charles has been one of the best self-published authors I have had the privilege to read. The author has achieved the ability to put me into the story and keep me there. It is a perfect balance of Epic Fantasy, Romance and Humor.  I would also add a brief description of the books but I think I will allow the author to do that. http://cityofblaze.blogspot.com/

With book 1 offered for free on amazon and the subsequent e-books only 2.99; you just can't go wrong with  giving this series a try.

    I finished the final major revision of Monsoon Reign this weekend. A few more little tweaks and I plan to release chapter one for free. After the cover art is finished I will publish the entire novel on Amazon.
    I may be biased since he's by brother in law, but Mark is one of my favorite artists. I've not only entrusted him with my cover but with my skin as well. Check out his work here.
